Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I would like to attach an anonymised defence letter but I don't know how to. I have it scanned but as an image, not a word document, so I am not able to copy and paste. Can I ask for some technical help?
I am interested if we are all having the same template or is Egg developing their defence.
Don't worry it's not technical at all! Try signing up to Welcome to Flickr - Photo Sharing, they'll have step by step instructions about how to upload your image (basically clicking a button and choosing the file). Then when it's up you just copy the link and paste it into your post on here.
Paragraph 7; how would you comment on this? Besides the archaic language this wonder-boy is using, of course.
Yeah I know that I have forgotten to black-out my name. Whatever. It's not like I am here to have cybersex.
I must say that when i was dealing with Lloyds' solicitors, that was a different experience. It was a detached, professional approach, so unlike the eggy guy.
Retaliatory account closure; no arrears, no default
Hi guys; I am at allocation questionnaire stage with Egg. I am on time with payments and have no default or arrears. I am claiming relatively modest amount- below £200. Yet they have turned around and decided to close my account with a whole balance repayable immediately. I cannot, of course, afford it. I am OK to negotiate with them and I don't need their poxy card, but can I do anything to cause them trouble, hassle, nuisance or annoyance because I am so furious with these BULLIES.
Re: Retaliatory account closure; no arrears, no default
Oh Joa, that is exactly what Egg are doing-
Bullyboy / Retaliatory tactics.
Report Egg to your local trading Standards plus the OFT and...
just keep on going with your Claim.
I would appreciate at least being pm'ed if my post is moved. Why was it moved; it's not a stay, it's not in the Mercantile Court. The copy should have been left in the Egg forum, as i am interested in other members' comments. The irony of it; in my post I complained about being shuffled without reason or being told. there you go.
I know that mods have to keep an order but let's have some respect for posters and some common sense.
Anyway, there is my post:
I have received a letter today which stated that an order has been made to transfer my case to the Central London CC. The irony is that I have just managed to have the case transfered to more local court; the judge agreed due to my childcare responsibilities and disability.
The letter does not contain any grounds or reasons for this order, although we know that it may have something to do with courts being swamped and looking for some solution.
I would like to request that the order is set aside but it may prolong the whole process. I am keen though because I do not like to be shuffled around like that without sense or reason.
On the other hand, there is a high probability that there will be no hearing and that Egg folds, like other banks did.
But it would cause me enormous hassle if the hearing would go ahead in Central London; fair whack to travel and take time off work.
Any comments?

The moderating team would appreciate if users would stick to one thread per claim. If everyone did so, maybe then we would have time to pm everyone every time we do something on the forum. But with 90000 registered users, it's simply not possible.
Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.
