Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I'm not sure if the Abbey ruling on the microfiche will apply to Barclaycard but I think it may be too late for me anyway. I sent them multiple letters trying to argue the point with them, but everytime I got back a standard letter, saying the same old stuff, often not even relating to stuff in my letters which just shows they aren't even read! Has anyone else also noticed that the letter is aparently an email? yup, they send me a letter yet call it an email. What's that all about?
I eventually got bored of them and decided to send my first request letter, estimating the total charges based on the past two years (plus a little extra). I stated in the letter that I had been forced to estimate the charges prior to 2004. I had stated they had 7 days to get back to me (I know the templates here state 14 days but I have been using the templates from the Govan Law Centre website, apart from this detail they pretty much say the same thing) and they did get back to me in 7 days, but only to delay me by a month!! Can they do this?
Here is what they wrote...

Any thoughts? Is this acceptable? Do I just have to wait? I personally wouldn't view my request as a complaint but that is certainly what they all seem to be treating the requests are.

I would say stick to your guns and the schedule outlined in your preliminary letter. However, Im fairly new to this site myself so I'm not really sure if it makes a difference giving a 7 day deadline as to the 14 day one. I received more or less the same letter on Saturday but I certainly won't be waiting and my letter before action will be sent on 27th October followed by filing a claim 14 days later.
