Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have a directions hearing on friday and I can't attend I phoned the court and informed them and they have told me to send a letter to the court stating the particulars of my claim and anything else that the judge may need to know to enable my claim to procede.
I am at a loss as to what to put in the letter. Has anybody else had any experience of such a hearing? I would be really grateful for any suggestions as to what to put in the letter. My claim with interest etc is £3,500. Please Help!
I would just do as they say, send a covering letter explaing to the judge why you cannot attend, setting out your full particulars of claim, enclosing your schedule and asking him to direct the defendant to supply you with their calculations used to come to the £35 penalty figure....
directions are basically what the court will tell the claimant and defendant to do prior to a hearing - ie. disclosure of documents etc.
