Default Offered £100 After Lba Letter

    Hello everyone,

after sending sending lbaicon to A & L for £218 in charges, I received a letter this morning saying basically that they still don't believe I have been unfairly charged, that the OFT says this that and other...blah, blah. A & L have now refunded £100 into my account "as a gesture of goodwill" and that any further charges raised must stand. They have not interestingly enough ask me to sign anything saying this is a Full and finalicon settlement.

My question is, because the money was automatically put back into my account (as opposed to sending me a cheque) do I leave the money where it is and carry on with my claim for the full amount without telling them whether or not I accept the £100 or not? or should I write and inform them that yes/no, I accept/don't accept the money in the account and will still be pursuing with the claim? The deadline for the LBA is 24th October.

    BB

Inform them that you accept the £100 as a part settlement and you will continue to seek the balance. Then stick to your timetable they will pay the remaining money.
