Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I can't beleive their arrogance in their reply to my initial request for repayment of charges: (to paraprase) "we beleive that the OFT has commented on Credit Card charges but as these are distinct from bank charges on a current account we still beleive our charges are fair. Since these charges have been raised in line with the T&C's of your account they must stand".
Oh Yeah? £34 to return a DD as unpaid - let me think, about 30p to send me a letter and what, 1p in electronic transcation cost to send back the DD as unpaid? Doesn't quite add up to £34 to me!
Anyone have any personal experience with A&L current account charges refunds?
I shall have great pleasure in closing my account when this is all settled - A&L have to have some of the worst customer service in the industry!
Hi Emoda
Welcome aboard and take no notice of thier carefree standard print out letters, they are sent to riel you and make you quit.
What i would do is have a look at the standard responce letters on the forum just to check you havent got one with different wording, if you have then copy it in your own thread in A&L and get some wording tips from settled claims.
The link at the bottom of my post ( list of Banks) will take you to A&L and there you can make your personnel thread and have A&L users advise as to how your bank will respond
