I recently filed 2 claims in Aberdeen Sheriff Court, for Barclaycard and Marbles credit cards with no problem. I didn't put on the form the reason i was filing in that particular juristiction ( i live in Aberdeen) and the court accepted the claims with no problems.
However, my hubby went into same court this afternoon to file 3 claims in the same way, 1 for RBSvisa card, 1 for RBS Mastercard and 1 for my banking account (branch held in Aberdeen). He was told i would have to put the reason i was filing in that particular court eg. there is a branch in Aberdeen. My RBS accounts will be ok as my branch is in Aberdeen, but the Visa and Mastercard address is Southend-on-Sea, Essex. I thought that as i lived in Scotland i would be able to file a claim in my local sheriff office, no matter where the branch's were held. Is this the case or am i wrong ? If i do have to file the claim where the account address is held, that would mean filing in England.
I'm really confused. Someone pls help
Pauline
