    Default paying balance

    Hi
I'm after a bit of advice.
I want to pay off my balance using a parents debit card. I called them to do this and they said that was fine. I then asked if there would be anything on my next statement. I want it to be zero. They said yes, there would be interesticon charges accrued on my account on a daily basis from the date of the last statement until the next one is issued. I asked them roughly how much this would be. They told me, so I said I'd like to make that payment also. They said they couldn't take payment for that, only for what the balance was on my last statement. So I can't in fact pay off my full balance. When my next statement arrives, if I make the payment on that, which will be 2 weeks or so after the actual statement date when it arrives, how can I avoid further interest being put on to the next statement? I know it'll only be a few pounds, but how can I actually get my balance to zero if they won't take payment that isn't yet showing on my statement, but when my statement arrives I'll have accrued further interest so still owe them?
    Any ideas?

Pay them more than the outstanding balance so that you go into credit on the account. You can then ask them to send you a cheque to refund you the amount.
