    Default HSBC & Student Suicide

I'm like a bus - nothing posted for ages and now every day!

Just found this link - HSBCicon deny irresponsible lending and pulled his overdrafticon leading to his suicide.

Default Re: HSBC & Student Suicide

Suicide in my opinion has many factors. This story also stated that the student had a history of self harm and depression however there is always a trigger and it is a pity that the staff of HSBCicon could not have tried to help more. In my job there are occasions where we cannot extend an overdrafticon but yet we are still trained enough to be able to suggest talking to their Student Union who have hardship loans they can give to students as well as suggesting other ways. I do not know fully his situation but the bank were the trigger that may well have lead to him taking his life. A sad case and a life ended before it had begun.
