Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have 4 accounts in total that I have paid penalty charges on, 2 with the Halifax and 2 with Lloyds TSB.
Two are current accounts (although one has been closed for about a year) and the other 2 are credit cards.
I would like to claim back for every penny and my question is this:
Do I send off a DPA letter for each account or does the ten pounds cover me for all the information that each organisation holds on me, regardless of whether it is for a current account or a credit card?
Also, if I am sending a letter for more than one account, should I just send it to my branch manager or should I send it to head office?
Sorry that I don't know the answer, but I would have thought they might be allowed to treat the accounts seperately, so £10 per DPA request...
I would suggest that you phone each organisation though, get confirmation of this point and then post your reply, so that others will know for the future.
Good luck
