Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Sorry for my lethargy.....not been on forum for some time. Thank you though, I received almost full payment from the Halifax (fear struck at the last hurdle). And it was only for £178 (I accepted £120). I then closed my account with them I am however, supporting my partner who is in dispute with Barclays bank over unjustified charges since 2000. I have more confidence with this one. Have just used MCOL to issue claim on her behalf, which was served on 13/9/06. My calculations show that they have until 11/10/06 to respond. The claim was aknowledged on 26/9. They have stated their intention to defend all of this claim despite her having been offered a settlement figure (not nearly enough).
This is all standard stuff with them and just keep going and you will get it back.
Also did you do the survey for the first claim on the site?.
And start a thread for this claim in the Barclays forum and then use it for any other questions you may have.
Good luck
