Sir Norman Bettison

[/b]I say he should first off be stripped of his Knighthood, and Kenny Dagleish should be given one instead! Then drag him and all the others through court by their meat and two veg - finding them guilty as accused, charged and found!!!!!!!

I know it's late, but I can't sleep with this gale force wind, so have just seen this on the news!!

That's what I said on the 'what made you swear today' thread DW.

If all else fails, kick them where it hurts and SOD'EM;)

Quite right too Sod'Em! I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that in the small hours!

They say that attack is often the best thought out form of defense, I feel Mr Bettison has more to hide than he is saying! Each and every individual who played so much as a hair breath in any part of this cover up, need slinging in jail! And from my personal experience of the Yorkshire Police forces, they are some of the most corrupt - I have said this for many years since living here.

But King Kenny? A great man! He attended every single funeral, and has stood by all no matter what during this past 23yrs, not for one minute doubting the fans - it is also clear to see the pain on his face when it comes to this terrible tragedy! He deserves a knighthood!

Life is like an echo, it all returns......The good, the bad, the false, the true......So if you give life the best you have, the best will come back to you.

As a lifelong LFC supporter i spent years explaining to all that asked (or blamed) us about Hillsborough that the Reds fans had no reason to be blamed and that all they did on that fateful day was help their fellow fans.

I attend Anfield every April for the memorial and when it finally became public knowledge that all we had said for years was actually the truth, i was so glad. Glad for my fellow fans but more so for the families. Please lets have the justice we deserve.

Please note that although my advice is offered, you should consult your legal representative before taking ANY action.

have a nice day !!

6 people to be charged

Hillsborough disaster: six people, including David Duckenfield, charged

Officer in charge of match charged with manslaughter and ex-chief constable Sir Norman Bettison charged with misconduct

Six people including two former senior police officers have been charged with criminal offences relating to the deaths of 96 people at the 1989 FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough football ground and the alleged police cover-up which followed

David Duckenfield, the South Yorkshire officer who was in command of policing at the match, has been charged with manslaughter of 95 people – the 96th, Tony Bland, died four years later after his life support was switched off.

Sue Hemming, the Crown Prosecution Service head of special crime and counter-terrorism division, said the CPS would allege that Duckenfield’s failure to take personal responsibility on the day was “extraordinarily bad and contributed substantially to the deaths of each of those 96 people who so tragically and unnecessarily lost their lives”.

Sir Norman Bettison, the former chief constable of Merseyside and West Yorkshire police, who was an inspector in the South Yorkshire force at the time of the disaster, has been charged with four counts of misconduct in a public office.

David Duckenfield faces Hillsborough charges with five others

Former Ch Supt David Duckenfield faces 95 charges of manslaughter and five other senior figures will be prosecuted over the 1989 Hillsborough disaster.

Mr Duckenfield was match commander at the FA Cup semi-final when 96 Liverpool fans were fatally injured in a crush.

Ex-South Yorkshire Police (SYP) Ch Insp Sir Norman Bettison, two officers, a solicitor and a Sheffield Wednesday club secretary also face charges.

Campaigners said the charges "send a message about accountability".

Last year, new inquests into the disaster at the Liverpool v Nottingham Forest match, held at Sheffield Wednesday's ground, concluded the fans had been unlawfully killed.

The inquests found that Liverpool supporters were not responsible for the dangerous situation at the Leppings Lane turnstiles.

For legal reasons, Mr Duckenfield cannot be charged over the death of the 96th victim, Tony Bland, as he died four years after the disaster, prosecutors said.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) must apply to the High Court to lift an order imposed after he was prosecuted privately in 1999, which must be removed before he can be charged.

An application will be made to the High Court in a matter of weeks and a senior judge will make a ruling in due course.
