thought I would try and get my statements via telephone (aint got 10 quid for p/o or chequebook)

informed me its £3 per statement!!! (have seen this on other threads so know its the norm)

The lady on the phone informed me that the charge reduction is only going to take effect from August and that the OFT states that charges before these period were lawful. Sooooooooo I am now going the legal route i.e SAR icon

you see, the SAR icon

requests a complete list of charges and history relating to your banking history with a bank, by phoning up and requesting your "statements" well thats a different request, so they are within their rights to ask for £3.00 per sheet, that is why on the SAR icon

you do not specifically request statements but all info they hold on you, and if they need to supply this in statement form, well thats up to them.

almost always send you back the £10.00 anyway and process the request without payment.

Just a sneaky tip, if you haven't got the cash, let me tell you something that happened to me

I sent the letter, stating I included the £10.00 fee but I forgot to enclose the £10.00, i got a reply stating I had forgotton to enclose the fee but here was the info I requested.....easy!

I am sending them with the £10 fee bit omitted, if they ask for it afterwards then i will send them a p/o
