Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
must say a big thankyou to this site for all the advise and good sense posted on it
now i have done everything to date against Barclays and tomorow i sent the lba to them as they didint respond to last letter other than to tell me they would look into it and get back to me by 18th oct . So at suggestion at thais site i am sticking to my time scales religiously , no let off for such a rich bank.
will post when i get a reply or in 14 days time when i submit a claim in the court as stated on LBA answer due 24th oct so we will see or should i include the weekends in the 14 days deadline?
any help would be appriciated even if its only grammer ans spelling mistakes
thanks guys cant thank all who post and run this site enough
i have been reading everything on this site and have been mulling over it all espessially about banks not wanting to go to court, now i want my day in court and think i might just use one ot the suggestions and when it get to claiminan intrest in court i might just go for 24% not 8% in an attempt to get a ruling that will open the flood gates and cause Barclays loads of headaches , anyone think this a good idea?
And you wouldn't "get a ruling that will open the flood gates ", as they'll settle before court, and other people have already started claiming contractual rate anyway. Even if you did by some miracle end up in court, it's Small Claims and doesn't set precedent.
Nice to see you full of fire, though. ;-)
Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.
thats a shame anyway i am off to rhyme time with my daughter and will give details to evryone i speak to so maybee i can get a few more people to join in this fight
have given the site adress to a friend who has an amazing number of contacts knows just about everyone in croydon education so the site should with luck now have loads more trying to get thier money back
have to wait an see though as she thought it was a [problem] at first
what do you think is an acceptable donation to this site for all the info i have been able to access
just a thought this so dont jump down on my head too much if you disagree.
could we not also put a donation to this site in the bill we send the banks thet way we can maximize the sites donations ie get it twice from bank and from us ?
The site only asks for a donation of 5%. Considering that most claimants possibly would not have had the expertise to even send the SAR letter, or certainly take the correct steps at the correct times, I think that 5% is a great deal. In fact this is one of those very rare occasions when I look forward to donating to something that has been of huge assistance.
just got a result form MBNA so will be donatining 5% of that when it arrives and any i get from Barclays
as an aside anyone know what i can do re an old mortgage i had with Abbey they say i will have to pay for statments as they have no record of my account that was after sending SAR and it bing returned as not know account
if i can get round to lefletting everyone in my road i dont see why not maybee put a notice in croydon post and gaurdian also advertiser if anyone even reads those papers
might get a result if we all put in letters saying how we did it and who helped us
might be fantastic for croydon wealth as will puts loads of extra cash around
