Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Received a letter today from Peter Townsend, Manager, Barclays Data Protection. Saying usual stuff, ie not under any obligation to present information according to any particular format, lots of info on microfiche, and to also check my own statements etc. BUT: They have returned my cheque and are supplying information that they hold free of charge. So am now going to wait the 40 days, tick tock. Oh and by the way, am not going to send the same cheque back to Barclays requesting DPA - SAR etc on our Barlcays Business Account.
Hi to all
Whats the address to use for my SAR ???? I've just sent mine off to
Data Protection Team, Barclays Bank PLC
Knutsford
Cheshire
WA169EU
but noticed that several people have sent thiers to H/O.
I Know of someone just going into branch and ordering 6years worth of statments! would that work?

Hi all
I have tried to find the place to start a new thread, but failed!
can any body help me here?
I have done every thing by the book to re-claim un-fare charges from the Woolich/Barclays.
They have just filed an Acknowledgement of service on the 11/Oct/06. They intend to respond to defend the case.
Since this claim started i have been issued with three charges of £35.00. Im am a very low paid worker this is hurting me a lot, as it takes a big lump from my weekly wage.
I have borrowed from a very great mate the monie to take them to court £120.00
they owe me £1.605.80.
I really dont know what to do now, im in panic mode. I have downloaded hundreds of notes to help me in court but dont understand any of them.

Here you go to your New-Thread scroll to the bottom of the page and it's at the left of the page.
As for the extra charges you have incurred, unless you want to pay the court (I think about £35) to have it added to your claim, you either need to start another claim, or at the end of this claim, suggest to the bank that they also re-imburse you with that otherwise you will have to start the process again. If you do opt to have it added, this will delay your current claim.
I think you still need to read the FAQ's and the step-by-step instructions. Have you followed the tried and tested procedure on this site?
Now that they have acknowledged, the bank have, until 33 days after you initially filed at court, to submit their defence.
Have you sent the schedule (including the 8% interest) to both bank and Court? If not, unless it's really close to Defending time, I'd send a copy off to MCOL for the attention of "The Court Manager" or, if it's really close to the time when they need to defend, submit it when you send your completed aq to your local court.
Have you started making up your bundle? If not, go here to start, and read the complete post.
I won't be able to respond as regularly as I have done in the last few weeks because I'm going to be away working so some other kind person(s) here will help you through.
If this posting has helped you, please click on my scales at the top right of this posting. Thanks
Offer received 7th November approx 80% of my claim, am thinking of accepting it as xmas is coming and the cash will be nice. So I shall be contacting them to see if I can get any more out of them first and then make my final decision, although my heart says accept the offer my head is telling me to go all the way and claim the total amount. Oh decisions, decisions!

Have just had a 'chat' with Alison Follet, and explained that a little more would be more than acceptable, she thought about it and agreed to another amount now 90% of claim, so I have adjusted the agreement she sent me accordingly and am going to post it off. Hopefully cheque will arrive by return of post.

hi darling...!
myself and girlfriend sent our lba's on 30oct for £1600 and £1100 each, but have heard nothing back since the reply to our prelims. its good to hear that they offered you 80% refund without dragging the court thing out. i'm not sure they will offer us 80% though, are you? just how cooperative was Alison Follet over the telephone?
Sorry to be so nosy but how much is your claim ? It is most odd that Barclays are offering 90% of your claim. Normally it seems about 50% or so and even less for claims over £1000.
My claim is over £3k and was offered a paltry £900

This claim is for £190 so not a great amount in the big scheme of things, they offered £90 at first, so I called and 'negotiated' a bigger amount. She (or the person who I took to be her) seemed to be quite pleasant, and to be honest I think that they cannot really be asked to go through the court thingy, mind you I did make it quite obvious that I was willing to go the whole way down the court route. So my advice is be very firm but respectful and pleasant, I have found that to be a good way of 'winning' any argument. Hope this helps you with your quest, and I will post again when/if I receive a cheque, because after all of this I am still not overly confident anyway.
