Being threatened with a defaut for charges, I paid the debt!
Basically I had a payday loan with minicredit, I couldnt afford to pay so tried to get a payment plan, eventually after being 13 days late from the payment due date I managed to scrape some money together and pay off my £200 loan plus a months interest. But minicredit wanted £200 extra for charges which I refused. I sent a letter plus a copy of my emails back and fore to minicredit to the fos and OFT, I am now awaiting the outcome of the investigation. But minicredit are now asking for £580 in charges and have stated they will be putting a default on my credit file on the 29th May. I am so angry and upset, I only have 1 year left before all my defaults drop off my credit file and they are going to put a new one on there. Please help, I am beside myself. I've paid off every payday loan I've ever had, and am just seeing light at the end of the tunnel, and now I face another 6 years, plus the time is takes to rebuild my credit again. What do I do?

Send a letter to them stating that you have paid the loan in full. ALso send the following letter: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...ng-of-the-debt then ignore EVERYTHING they send unless it deals directly with the "prove it" letter. Be warned, you need to have a hard head, as they will start sending you a LOT of harassment and abusive letters. Make sure you keep a copy of each and every one as we can easily form a defence with them, and take them to court if they persist in pursuing a debt that no longer exists.
