SPSO RSL Complaint Handling Procedure **Correct as at April 2012**

SPSO publishes RSL complaint handling procedures;
On 18 April we published our second model complaints handling procedure (CHP) - the registered social landlord (housing) sector CHP. This model CHP is published under section 16B of the SPSO Act 2002 (as amended by the Public Service Reform (Scotland) Act 2010). On 18th April all RSLs were notified that the model CHP now applies to them, as required under section 16c of the Act.
All RSLs are required to adopt the model CHP as soon as possible within the 2012/2013 financial year. Each RSL should provide the Ombudsman with details of how they have complied with the model CHP, or provide clear plans for implementation, by October 12th 2012.
