Default Respoonse to Barclaycard microfiche letter I am going to send, your thoughts please.

Sorry, aciidently posted this in Barclaysicon instead of just Barclaycard so here it is again:

I have drafted the following letter in response to Barclaycards microfiche letter, one I know quite a few of you have also received, if you could give me your thoughts, feedback and any suggestions before I mail it I would really appreciate it. I removed my account details from it but otherwise this is what I intend to send.

    Letter:

    Deborah Woodcock
    Barclaycard
    PO Box 599
    Mancgester
    M60 3NF

    30/09/06

    Dear Ms. Woodcock,

    ACCOUNT NUMBER: ****

I am writing to you in reference to the correspondence regarding a Subject access requesticon on data held by your organisation concerning a previous Barclaycard account. I was surprised and shocked at your statement that you are unwilling to disclose personal information that you are in possession of concerning my finances.

The reason stated for the refusal, the fact that you hold this information on a microfiche system to me is irrelevant and quite frankly it of your own choosing to use such a system that is inefficient for your purposes. It seems that you have chosen this method of data storage in order to prevent customers from accessing their information. The fact that you will access this information only if I pay the extortionate fee of £3 per statement is not acceptable and as you can retrieve the data I would expect for it to be supplied for the maximum fee of £10 as usually applies for these cases.

I enclose a cheque for £10 to cover this expense.

    Yours Faithfully

Default Re: Respoonse to Barclaycard microfiche letter I am going to send, your thoughts please.

I have Fiche records from Barclaysicon and there is some information that suggests a relevent filing system

    Fiche period,
    Frame
    Fiche
    Account frame
    Ledger title (sort code)
    Account number

This all looks to be set in away to easily find the account details when required.

It may be worth stating that the £3 statement fee is in itself proof that the statements are in a relevent filing system.

I took the riduculous over estimate approach and it seems to have worked.

    All done I think
