We have a claim against our Insurer for a shower enclosure. Do we have to use their contractors to do the job or are we entitled to use our own contractor - having got 3 quotes for the work?

You are entitled to use your own contractor, but will have to pay any cost over and above what the Insurers contractor may charge. Ask the Insurers about this.
