    Default overdraft interest ???

    hi,
i know this is covered in the forums ( so i understand- i can only claim interest on what percentage of my overdrafticon has been made by unlawful charges)

but on my statements my interest charges add up to approx a 5th of my total.surely all of this can be claimed back on my spreadsheet as i dont think i agreed to being charged these amounts?

are these not unlawful charges too ?

im just doing my spreadsheeet now so i wanted to know what everyone else thought
thanks, and god bless us one and all

You may claim back that portion of the interesticon that relates to the unlawful charges that were taken. Interest is not unlawful and I have no doubt that, whether you remember or not, you will have agreed to them when you opened the account.

Some people are now claiming reciprocal interesticon which increases the size of your claim quite a bit. There are a number of different methods for claiming interest now and lots of discussion in the General forum so it might be worthwhile spending a bit of time researching before you start your claim. There are several spreadsheets available in Vamps Chambers which you can get to from here. (You will need to log into google to get there). http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...eadsheets.html

There is interesticon that the bank took, and also interest that you can add to your claim. See my Chambers for further simple explanations.
