:grin: Have just received a cheque from Amex for £59.95 (i was claiming £79.95)
Have decided to settle as it will cost me more than the difference of £20
to log in small claims court. If i was claiming more i wouldn't let them get away with it, but am happy to settle on this occassion.

I still have about 8 claims at various stages, so when i win some more, i will happily donate to this site, as its been a wealth of knowledge and i wouldn't have gotten anything if it had'nt been here. :grin:

After some consideration i have decided to send the cheque back and claim for the full amount. Even though its only £20 i have had second thoughts and feel that its the principle that counts not really the money (although it helps). So i will be sending them back the cheque and a letter to say that i want payment in full or i will be going to court.

Did you have to sign a settlement agreement to get the cheque?

If you signed anything that says "in Full and final settlement" I'm afraid you cannot take this any further

I received the cheque and a paper to sign, but i have not cashed the cheque and have not signed anything.
