Default Automated Charges, letter recieved from BOS

Got a letter asking for permission to take £5 from my account to forward the copies i requested. There is a line at the bottom ' The only manual intervention around charges woould be when a refund is amade.' So are they now not trying to argue the manual intervention point as to the extorinate fees they charge?

This would seem to me to be an admission from the bank that there is no manual intervention in charges themselves and also therefore confirmation the charging process is automated. I think you just found your "smoking gun"

Is the letter from the branch manager? Can't imagine any other department admitting this

Got exact same statement from Bank of Scotlandicon and Halifax. Made me smile cos they've got no way to explain charges now.

Looks to me like the only manual intervention will be the point at which they actually give you your money back, and all transactions to date have been automatic...

any way you can scan the letter and get it up here somewhere? This would be great evidence for someone if they did end up in court to get charges back
