Hi,

 

Just wondering if you could give me some advice - I took out a payday loan with Mr Lender, couldn't afford to pay it back so arranged a payment plan via email.

 

Despite a lot of phone calls, I told them I only wanted to discuss this over email (something they didn't really adhere to)

 

Despite making two payments (not missed one since it was arranged) each month they call/email me.

 

I almost could put up with this but yesterday I received a text from them saying "your workplace is getting fed up with the amount of phonecalls you're getting"

 

This I thought was outrageous - and I want to complain to the OFT? Could someone let me know if this is the best person to complain to ?

Local trading standard may get a visible

response as the OFT will file a complaint

for future reference.

really thats totally against all guideline to phone your place of work

report them to the OFT NOW

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Can the FOS really help with this one??

 

I have a FOS leaflet and they seem to only deal with complaints where you query figures/costs.

 

Their leaflet is very clear they can not fine or punish a business and do not monitor a business to ensure they follow their rules.

 

I fear the OFT is the only place for this complaint.

I've never come across that before, do you have a link to the leaflet?

 

I fear the OFT is the only place for this complaint.

 

The OFT only take on group complaints, although individuals can raise issues with them still.

 

Trading Standards could be another option.

My leaflet is dated 2009 (not sure if this is out of date) but this on on their website

The 1st line does state

Our job at the Financial Ombudsman Service is to help settle disputes between consumers and financial businesses – without taking sides.

On this occasion its not really a dispute its a complaint against the company in question for breaking OFT regs regarding harrasment.
