Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I wrote to A&L on 23rd August asking for subject access. Still no reply so starting to get a little peeved! Has anyone else waited this long for their information?
Hi ,I am just off the phone after the A&L called me back as promised (dont faint).A clearly well informed and polite young gentleman advised me that there is a single person dealing with requests for statements regarding the Data Protection Act.He looked at my account details and told me that no one had e mailed her on my behalf. He apologised as I had been "messed about" and said that my £10 payment would be waived. I have been waiting since 7th Sept for a reply to my first letter requesting 72 statements.
I also did a quick poll (3) of the Liverpool call centre and Ursula (very bitchy and indignant) refused to believe me as regards DPA ,she was insistant and stuck to her guns that it would be £5 per statement,Debby was nice but again did not know about DPA and advised that it would be £5 per statement, Joanne was nice but again fell short on the DPA,Joanne did say that she was going to get someone to call back which brings me to begining of my reply........low and behold Paul at Liverpoll call centre phoned yeeeeeeeehaaaa. So if he does Email the correct person I will in his words "recieve my statements".
I will be doing a sly straw poll tommorrow - I will phone up three times to the Liverpool call centre to see if any of the A&L staff give me the truth. I suspect I will be given lies or the wrong information.
Just of the phone to A&L (Helen - Ashford) what a rarity she was .........clear precise information aswell as helpfull and pleseant. She applied a refund of £10 for my hassle in obtaining statements - UNBELIEVIBLE!!. I asked her about DPA with regards statements etc and she was aware of the Act (A 1ST). My statements will arrive within 7 days she advised.
So thanks to Helen ................all I need is my statements now. LOL
