Hello, I'm new here so be gentle!

My partners bicycle got stolen over night and so I've logged a theft with the local police and put a claim in via my house insurance (Endsleigh... we paid extra for bikes).

The bike is a Specialised Globe -hybrid - really good spec but we bought it second hand so could only insure it for a little more than we paid for it. (bought for £108, insured for £150). Luckily, I paid with Paypal so have receipts etc.

I understand the insurance are only going to pay for I said it was worth - however they've put me in touch with an online company to choose a new bike from and there's only one within this price bracket and it's gash :| and it's a mountain bike. His was a lightweight hybrid.

Will I be able to persuade the insurance to just give us cash towards a 2nd hand bike? There's a few on Ebay and he'd must prefer one of those to a bulky mountain bike!!

Thanks in advance,

Kayla

*hoping whoever stole this bike gets an anal fissure from the seat!*

Surely you should be paid in cash or direct to your bank, etc..and surely you dont have to shop at the place they recommend !..thats ridiculous. Im,have a specialised Downhill bike that I doubt the store they recommned could provide either.
