    Abbey unfair charge claim

    Hi all,

    I decided to go for it and claim back unfair charges from an old bank account I had with Abbeyicon National. I sent the letter off with the £10 fee for a list of my charges. I have just got a letter back saying that they are unable to send the request to my new address for security reasons and they would like me to send further ID and phone them up to speak about it.
    How should I play this as I know they will try and delay it for as long as possible and try not to pay out.

    It kinda makes sense that they can't send it to a different address.

    Give them a call and tell them you'll pick up the statements at your local branch. You'll need to bring some form of Photo ID, but seems like the easiest option.

    13/09/06- Royal Bank of Scotland - LBA sent
    23/09/06- Royal Bank of Scotland - Offer received £1544 (Thanks but no thanks)
    02/10/06- Royal Bank of Scotland - *WON* Full settlement

    07/07/09- First Plus PPI - S.A.R sent
    18/07/09- First Plus PPI - S.A.R received
    22/07/09    - First Plus PPI - Initial request sent
