Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Well. I got a response back from barclaycard.
They said that my account was closed in Dec 2003, which sounds about right. They said my account records are held on microfiche along with other customers data and as such are not "readily accessible" in the meaning of the Subject access request under the data protection act. If I do want statements they will cost £3 per statement. If I have any problems then I can make a complaint with the OFT (or whoever deals with this (I'm paraphrasing from memory here)).
Any ideas people? Should I pursue this or let it go?
