I have been with esure for about three years now and been paying in one go when I renew my policy. Wen renewing policy they make so many promises and one of them was that if I was involved in accident which was my fault they would settle me within one week. They make me add on courtesy car option and few other bits.

On august 27 I was involved in accident in which my BMW 320 was badly damaged. I called esure to report and they bloody asked me thousands of question including what I was wearing and what was other party wearing. After all that they said some repair company will come and collect my car and will give me a replacement car until it’s all settled. Week later I had a call from engineer saying its total loss and will be sending me cheque in post. Next day repair company called me and said we will be collecting replacement car as your money in the post and they took car. for next two weeks I kept checking my post but no sign of any cheque so I rang esure asking what is happening, they reply saying they are not ready to give me money as they need further information, so I said why was I not told about this and it’s so unprofessional. In reply all they said is we don’t have to let you know about this. OK then how long will this take I was shocked by answer up to few months. So I asked for replacement vehicle and she just would not let me have it. she said we did give you one so we can’t give it to you again, I argued on saying I am paying for courtesy car so its within my rights, after arguing for about 40 mins she agreed and said I should have a car by tomorrow. Next day no car, day after no car, day after no car again so I called them back, and had to go through again. Finally I had to go to national car rental to get a car.

One month later I had call from someone saying I need to come to you and do your interview regarding your accident. I said ok then he came to house two weeks later and it took about 4 hours to complete. Questions he was asking was jokes. One of them was Where did you look straight after accident, what was going through other party mind, what faults your car had before accident, what was she wearing. I said to him that don’t you think these are the stupid questions to ask 4 weeks after accident and could not say anything.

Any way two weeks after that I rang esure and advisor said that they will be issuing cheque tomorrow and I should get it day after. Oh well surprise surprise - No cheque in post so rang e sure again, advisor said I am sorry but I will sort it out now and issue you your money. I said ok but again after few hours e sure called me and said we won’t be sending you any money as we still need some information. And that was the last call. I found that esure

Can anyone advise me what I shall do to get money of esure?

Do you have legal cover ? If so, use it and take legal action against them.... that always gets the ball moving, my brother did it with RSA group - used his cover with them to sue them lol.

Seems we had gremlins.

Write the them immediately by recorded delivery and 'tell' them you will be claiming interest at the rate of 8% from the date of the accident.

Have they told you how much the cheque is for and are you satisified with the amount?

Hello everyone, thank you for you reply. i have legal protection so i will call esure last time and see what they say it then i will call for legel advise. And yes they have told me my car was vallued at 4200.

there's usually a clause in legal insurance that blocks you from making a claim against your own insurer.

make a high level complaint, make noise.
