Over the weekend, part of my wall fell off, made hell of a mess. I figured a phone call to motability home insurance would have it all taken care of. After more than an hour being passed from department to department, we was eventually told to get a builder in, and pay for it ourselves. For a company that targets disabled people, they were very unhelpful, and every question asked was designed to find them a way out. I have a pretty extensive policy but received no help at all. It would appear at the moment that my door frame was fitted incorrectly, something done before I bought the house 10 years ago. in which case, were not insured anyway because "the frame is designed to keep water out". We got insured in case the unforeseen happened, but when it did, were not insured because we didn't take precautions against it. !!!!

Please, everyone remember to read your policy very carefully. My policy says I am insured against water damage, but apparently only under certain conditions.
