    Default Kicking some barclaycard a*ses

I have begun my fight for my bank charges, already sent my DPA letter to Barclaysicon, now starting on barclaycard. Am a little worried about the microfiche. Anybody managed to get them to send the statements when they start the microfiche argument. Would like to know in advance so I can respond quickly.

    Cheers

I have received a letter from barclaycard this morning giving my statements upto May 2004. They have used the microfiche argument. I have read loads of posts about this but cannot find an answer, can we make them give statements going back further than 2004? I am owed over £300 just for two years so I must owe loads more!

Can anyone help with this microfiche saga?

Hi, what i am going to do (very shortly) is to send a claim including an estimate for the months they have not sent statements for - depending on your viewpoint, it may force the issue & make them disclose the info you want. Read the site to see how others are going about it, & if you do go this route, then make it very clear on your schedule of charges what is estimated, & the reason for doing it - that way if it ever gets near a judge there is not a black mark against your name !

Ps i am not a legal person at all!

Yep - estimate! It puts the onus on them to reveal the real charges they levied on you. If you over-estimate ah well - it was the best you could do in the absence of the accurate info from the learned company (with the crap filing system ).

If I was their auditor and they admitted to me their systems were this bad I'd be laughing. Easy points boys!

Information Commissioner going in to see this disorganised unstructured filing system mid-October if you look round the threads on here. Bet Barclaysicon are looking forward to that!!!!

Thanks! I have estimated the two years previous to may 2004 (i only had the barclay card since then) and sent then the prelim letter with total charges of £680
including two years worth of charges based on one years charges multuiplied by two. Hopefully that estimate will be right! if not then hopefully they will give me what they took my £10 to give me!

Barclaycard are being dodgy, got a letter through the post today, completely disregarding my lbaicon letter, saying that in reference to their letter dated 5th October they are continuing investigating my concerns and have not yet been able to resolve my complaint and so will contact me again by the 28th November 2006. Dodgy or what, the letter was sent recorded and they did recieve it. Anyway, do i send another LBA or just get straight into mcol?

    Hi

They are just stalling, stick to your schedule and if the 14 days are up on the lbaicon go to mcol.

    Good Luck

I am just about to file MCOL with barclaycard and i have a few queries, they have charged me again (twice) for late payment and then for going over my limit. So do i send them a letter asking about these charges or just ignore the charges and file for MCOL straight away? I estimated the charges for Barclaycard and they have not responded about this but offered me £166 (total = £680 (including estimate)). I have decided that i hate credit cards!

You should include the new charges in the MCOL schedule, you'll be sending out a new schedule soon anyway.
