Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Just received a letter is this usual? Guess what, it is
First things first, I work for the other side....a bank(sorry if I swore there!) We receive your letters and send a response and sometimes we don't even send that. I have read numerous things that quote letters saying "Is this usual?" Many scream "YES I have the exact same one word for word."
Let's see how many of these phrases are "usual."
Please feel free to add to the list of phrases as the list is not exhaustive.
"We believe our charges are fair and transparent" (you still keep losing!)
"The report by the OFT did not consult the banks" ( you still lowered CC charges down though!)
"While we differ in your view, having reviewed your account we are willing to offer an exceptional gesture of goodwill off of £x".(Are you taking the p***)
that's a starter so add more to the list with your own comments in brackets. Make sure someone hasn't already posted it already posted it.
Re: Just received a letter is this usual? Guess what, it is
However on a purely commercial basis, it will cost YOUR BANK money to defend your claim in terms of legal costs that will be incurred. It is unlikely that YOUR BANK will be able to recover these costs (even if the bank wins) because your claim will probably be allocated to the small claims track.
"The Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth"
