Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I sent my data controller £10 cheque off to Natwest. They sent me my statements charging me £5 (taken straight from my account) and also cashed my £10...
Are they allowed to do this? I thought the most they could have was the £10? Has this happened to anyone else?
Get back to them and get your money back. No they are not allowed to charge more than £10, and I suspect an admin error rather than a deliberate overcharging in this instance, likely left hand not knowing what the right one does.
Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.
