It seems Hastings Direct have recognised a need to reward up and coming stars.

Good to hear it.

So just what are the 5 important values they are looking for ?

1.brave

2.decent

3.together

4.accountable

5.driven

It is an interesting selection of words.

1.Bravery is not something which comes with training-most of us are born with it.Although no one is born with a motor policy they cant cancel.

2.Decent deals invite repeat business-Hastings would do well to observe this.

3.Working together so that the right arm knows what the left is doing,is not something Hastings has quite yet mastered reading some customer stories.

4.Its always good to know someone is accountable-problem is with Hastings no one appears to know just who it is-as customers complaints get ignored

5.Ah I can think of a few reasons why this word is in the list...especially since I too was driven......around the bend by Hastings totally ignoring my complaints.

If you wanted to publicise your gripes about Hastings Direct further, the Moneysupermarket forum comments feature very highly on google results. But do so in a questioning way rather than a rant, as MS will switch off how the forum thread reports to google and other search results. The MSE Insurance forum is also a good place to make gripes.

It is not that many years ago, prior to the management buy out, that Hastings received a huge fine from the FSA. If they are still causing problems to their policyholders, I think you should take this up with the FOS as a complaint, with a note to the FSA. The FSA don't normally deal with individual complaints, but they will do so if it is warranted.

We could do with some help from you.

Thanks,I dont really know why we have seen an upsurge in Hastings complaints over others, although we do tend to get waves-I remember Swinton had a spell where they featured on here.

Actually it was whilst Googling that I was drawn to the complaints here.

We have had a rep appear and they have been invited to contact Admin to get approval to deal in an official capacity,as is usual procedure, but I am not aware they have responded to that invitation.

We have no problem with that and like other reps would encourage it-the ball is in their Court.

I have a well documented file with some quite damning evidence, and have given them opportunity to respond to my complaints before going to the FOS,or local Trading Standards,in fact I have been more patient than most.

It is getting very near to the Court route though now, since the FOS are overstretched and will not be able to deal with this as quickly as it deserves.

So I will almost certainly be looking at both.

Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry to say Martin, you chased them off the board. If I were in their shoes I wouldn't be back.

No I dont agree, there are a dozen threads which were written by genuine complainants.

In contrast to chasing them away, they were invited to make the official approach so we could verify their brief.

I know its not nice to be facing hard facts sometimes, but if they are passionate about seeing customers problems resolved, then I am sure they will rise to the challenge.

Now,that said,I am pleased to advise that 2 official company reps from Hastings Direct are now registered on the CAG to respond in an official capacity, and we welcome their presence.
