    Thumbs down IF Loan

I have a loan with IF and I started off paying by DD as I was paid the same time the DD was due out. Then I had to cancel the DD because I had no funds to cover it as the payment was due on a different date to when I was being paid. I have been charged over the months £20 for late payment, even though I make monthly payments, and now I pay by debit card every 4 weeks on a friday. They keep telling me to set up my dd again, but I have to keep explaining that there is only a certain date that I can pay by dd, which is every 4 weeks on a friday, but they say they can't set it up for when I have the funds. I used to receive a statement every month showing my payments and current outstanding balance, but I can't remember the last time I received one!

    Default Re: IF Loan

    Hi there,

Had the same situation with them myself a while ago.

Be very careful about paying them in any other way than DD. Apparently, they say its in their terms and conditionsicon that everything is paid by DD, although for some like you and me, things change and we can't always do that.

What I found to my horror at later date is that they had actually marked my credit file with Experian and Equifax as an "AP" status everytime I paid by card and told them in advance that I would be paying by card. Apparently, the "AP" status means Agreement to pay which I'm told doesn't look great on your credit file.

Just thought I'd share my experience with you, but I hope you get it sorted eventually!

    Good luck.
