Just a quickie,

I had insurance cover on a car which ended in january 09..i had 3 years no claims at this point and i havent had a policy with anyone since

Does anyone know if iam still entitled to 3 years ncd or whether the entitlement lapses after a certain period of time?

Cheers

With most companies they will not accept NCC proof that is more than 2 years old. But both the Coop and Aviva can accept NCD proof up to 3 years old. So approach Coop and Aviva with the NCD proof you have from the last company to see how much they quote. Remember that Aviva offer different rates via different channels, so you should see how much they quote directly to you and via a broker. Also remember that it depends on the gross premium before the NCD is taken off. It is possible than another Insurer may quote a cheaper premium with no NCD than either of these companies with 3 years.

(ps. Coop and Aviva are the only companies I am aware of, but there may be others, so you could phone around or see a local broker (but not Swinton as they don't have a good reputation).

We could do with some help from you.
