Thread: to those with DPA problems because of microfiche

Hi Guys

I haven't had this problem myself cos I had all of my statements. When I have been looking on the forum I have seen lots of you ahving trouble getting your DPA info as Barclaycard are using a microfiche loophole as an excuse.

I have been looking around for some info on problem I ahve had with a case, and found some info which might be of use...

Apparently the claim that the DPA does not cover microfiche stored entries is not true, it has been taken out of context. This exemption only applies to medical, educational and public records. Clearly bank charges are none of these.

I'm not sure if this is any help to anyone, but thought when I saw it, I should let you all know, as I had not noticed anybody mention this...

not so according to the ICO

They state categorically in phone calls Ive had with them that M/fiche is NOT a RFS. And they are in negotiatiion with b/card apparently about this

Howeve,r i have a thread, another tree to bark up above - seems we are being led down a gardne path when there is proof they have the data we need on a computer. read the thread!
