Charges are published in our marketing literature for current accounts which provides customers with an informed choice of products before opening an account. we also provide copies of
terms and conditions
of the account when it is opened. Any changes or amendements to the
terms and conditions
are notified by post, through statements inserts and our website, which complies with the
Banking Code
of practice.
The office of fair trading report of april 6th 2006, although touching briefly on current accounts, did not give any specific recommendations regarding the level of charges for current accounts. Should any industry wide consultation arise on this matter, Alliance & Leicester will participate as appropraite.
We feel our charges are reasonable and competitive compared to the indusrty and that they are clearly shown within our literartue on our website, as well as being detailed on minthly current account statememnts. Our range of great value current account products offer market leading rates and are regularly featured in newspaper best buy tables.
