Default Newbie here needing a little help.

I,m trying to claim back my charges from Lloydsicon TSB and I need a bit of advice.

I,ve sent the letter stating my grievances as per the template and I,ve had a reply saying that the charges are legal etc, as stated in the terms and conditionsicon. They say that the charges will therefore stand.

Obviously I started this with the intention of taking it as far as necessary and I know this is just the opening exchange.

What I need to know is what my next course of action should be. Any and all advice would be appreciated as I want to take this all the way I just don,t know what my next move should be.

Its good to know I,m not alone in this anyway. Keep up the good work!

You should read through the FAQ's, there's a Step-by-step guide in there.

It looks as if you might have skipped a stage, do you have all your bank statements, or a list with dates of all the charges added to your account?

That is stage 1, get your statements, work out the charges they've taken then contact the bank and ask for them to be refunded / returned to you. With this you need to include the detailed list of all the charges with dates they were taken.

Check the faqs, and read about the forums before you go any further, it'll save a lot of hassle in the long run.

if you have not read the faqs then i suggest that you do.

if you have then i would read them again.

you need to be aware of what you are getting into. yes you will get your money back but its not a simple process, and we can only help, and if you get stuck you might find that we cant always answer questions immediatley.

you dont say if you have sent the Data Protection Act/S.A.R - (Subject access requesticon) which is the first stage if you dont know how much you have been charged.

if you do know how much you have been charged then you should be sending the request for refund.

are you aware that this may end up in court? and that you may have to pay upfront court costs and then costs for an allocation questionaire?

have you looked through other peoples threads to see what has happened with them? this will prepare you of what has happened with other people and may happen in your case.

ive just had to come back and add on to this. i am sorry if this post may seem agressive in anyway. but you need to know exactly what you are getting yourself into and seeing as you have been a member since july you should already be aware that this is not a straightforward thing to do. i would strongly advise you reading and reading and reading. if this does end up in court you need to be well prepared and know what you are talking about.

also if you have sent the dpa/SARicon and they havent complied within the 40 days then i would send the letter before actionicon giving them a further 14 days. if they are still within the 40 days then i would send them a letter telling them how long they have left to comply. xx

if i have helped you at all click please the scales on top right!
