Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Has anyone else made two separate claims against A&L? I got five years worth of charges (over £4000) in April, and put in claim for sixth year (around £1400). on 12th August. They acknowledged service on 16th August and their 28 days runs out on Wednesday. Still no cheque.
Do you know of any defence they could be using? My letter with the cheque for £4532 in April did not mention Full and final settlement, which is the only defence I can possibly think they could use.
Have you received any communication from A&L since they acknowledged the claim? Its been 3 weeks since they acknowledged my claim and i still haven't heard anything yet neither.
Hopefully you'll get your cheque today, but that really is taking the p**s if they pay up on the very last day.
I'm gonna start a second claim againt them once they pay me out due to the charges they are still making against my account, that should be another couple of hundred pounds.

Nope have heard nothing, and have actually realised their 28 days was up on 9th September. Will phone the Court today if still nothing in the post and find out if they have lodged a defence.
You're still within the 28 days so your cheque could also arrive any day now.
