Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi everyone. I'm new. Great site with lots of great advice.
I have sent of my Data protection notice to Bank of Scotland and am awaiting reply.
I am a bit worried about the next stage and filling in the spreadsheet. I'm not too hot on interest rates etc and dont't know how to fill in that bit.
I don't really have anyone to help me either. Is there a "spreadsheet for dummies" version available. Will it be clear from my statements how much I have been charged etc.
Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks so much
You don't need to know anything about interest rates. All you need to put in is the date, what the charge was for, and the amount of the charge. It works all the rest out for you.
Have you had a look at the spreadsheet yet? If you use the simple version it is quite straightforward.

the spreadsheet will do the calculations for you once you enter the date and amount of charges, the 8% bit isn't needed until the court stage. It really is "spreadsheet for dummies" (no offence meant)
The statements should show all your charges, if you have any statements to hand, copy the spreadsheet and have a little practise - I did!
I'm also enquiring about spreadsheets
I've filled one out but I have a lot of charges to put on and when I try to go past 117 in the list it doesnt carry on working out the interest or total
Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?
you need to copy and paste the formulas into the new cells, there are a few ways of doing this but if your not used to spreadsheets, just go to a cell which you know works out the calculation, copy it then go to the celll in the same column that doesn't work and paste.
Sorry
I'm a bit thick about things like this
Do I start a new spreadsheet and go to cell 117 and paste into that?
Theres a total appears in the cell underneath so what do I do with the total?
I'm sorry but I cant really explain myself
Also in my statements I have charges for Monthly overdraft charge/unauthorised overdraft charge and paid item charge
Do I include these ?
Think I've sussed the copy&paste bit out
It seems to be calculating OK now but I still need to know if I've to add on the
monthly overdraft/unauthorised charges and paid item charges on before I can complete my list of charges
Can anyone help
I have never worked in an office in my life so therefore have never seen a spreadsheet before. Strange but true. I tried educating myself tonight but fell at the first hurdle. I don't have Excel on my PC but do have Works which was just as difficult! It was all technical jargon I hadn't heard of before (I did mange to work out that a cell was the wee box!). Help! How on earth do these things work? Is there an idiots guide you could recommend that I buy. Yup! I really am a dummie!
I have no problems with helping with software issues, it's just a bit difficult explaing to people when you don't know their level!
You don't need to buy a book, there are some excellent free tutorials on the web, try a google search, I'm sure you'll find something, in the mean time if you've anmore queries, don't worry about asking!
