I wrote and posted my letter to the bank over 2 weeks ago, as i had no other contact details i sent my letter to the local branch.

I have recieved no notification of the bank even recieving the letter, ilet alone any sort of refund. Instead i have recieved a number of bank charges notification letters informing me they are taking yet more money from my already diminishing acount.

Can anyone advise me what to do next? should i resend the letter, go in and visit them (not sure i have the balls for this one!) or start looking for legal help?

As far as letter number 1 advises, the bank has 40 days in which to comply. Dont worry too much about the charges, your in the same boat as me.. just hold onto them and add them to the rest of the charges that they will send you. Have a really good read of the forums. YOU ARE NOT ALONE DUDE.

Do they still have 40 days even though i said at the bottom of the letter:

'If you do not comply fully within 14 days then I shall begin a claim against you for the full amount plus interest plus my costs and without further notice.'

I'm also still waiting for a reply from them. Think they're now hoping we'll all just forget about it.

Sent my letters away nearly 3 weeks ago! Have sent a couple of e-mails now to the address on their website. You should try that, I got a reply within a few hours and apparently someones looking into it now.

Won't hold my breath! You can find email address in 'contact us' part of website.
