Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Well like you guys I have had so many problems with A&L. It all stems from when we put money in our account but because of problems with their systems it didn't clear in time for DD's due to come out. The ever so nice people at a&l then charged us around £150 in charges and after much argueing on our part they placed a good will payment of £25 on our account . Now because of trying to claw back after them taking them money we have charges adding up to £697.
Sent first letter on 28/08/06. Today, 07/09/06, we received the standard 'our charges are fair ,the OFT were talking about credit cards blah blah blah.'
So now just printing off second letter. Actually kind of hope it goes to court so I can add the interest too.
To update, yesterday received the standard "sorry to disappoint you but we are still right and you're an idiot" letter from a&l in response to my second letter. To date the charges are now £747. Just going to start the claim for court. Am a little nervous as I read on some of the other posts that a&l left it until 1 day before the court date to give the money but I suppose it's worth sweating a bit to get your money back.
