Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi, have sat and gone through all the statements and i am looking to claim in excess of £4700 just on charges. i have put all the figures on the letter ready to sens but am unsure as to what to include on the schedule of charges that has to go with it ....I really don't want to mess this up as £4700 would really help out if i get it back so could someone advise to what exactly the schedule is...and what to include on it..
Basically this can be copied from the spreadsheet in the Bank templates library, and it will detail
1. The type of charge, eg unpaid DD, unpaid standing order, unpaid cheque, unauthorised overdraft fee etc,
2. The amount they charged you,
3. The date of the charge.
You fill in the relevant data.
This is the Schedule of Charges that you send with the preliminary letter
The spreadsheet also works out the interest rate at 8% for when you file your claim with the court, but at the preliminary letter stage, you should delete this section, as all you are claiming at this stage are the charges, and, if applicable, any interest that you have incurred as a result of the charges they have applied to your account
