HSBC Account + Joint Account. How Likely to be Closed?
Hi, fantastic site, what an amazing resource.
I am considering a claim for unfair bank charges against HSBC. I haven't done the calculations yet, but it should be in the region of about £500.
The thing is, I'm quite concerned about the possibility of my account being closed, and am also worried about my joint account with my wife.
Firstly, what is the likelihood of them closing my account? And secondly, can they do anything to the joint account? We also have a joint savings account, and a joint credit card.
I'm only going to pursue my own current account for now, but I really don't want to if it will rock the whole boat.
Re: HSBC Account + Joint Account. How Likely to be Closed?
i dont think they will close anything for just one claim. if you were charging for 2 or more then they probably would. that seems to be the most common case from the threads I have read here.
i wouldnt like to comment on the 2nd concern as i have no idea. I think it would all depend on the state of those accounts but then again, they may not be able to do anything about any accounts that are held with a third person, even if its ur wife.
Lots of clever people here, im sure someone will post something more concrete for you shortly.
