Hi,

Just a small question...

I am just wondering if anyone know if payments which are paid out on Monday & Tuesdays such as Carers, Inc Support & DLA will be paid the week before or the Friday before Christmas?

Many Thanks in advance

Your tax credits payments are made every week or every four weeks, depending on what you chose when you claimed. If your usual payment day falls on a bank holiday, you should get your payment earlier than normal.

How to check when your next payment is due

Your award notice tells you the date of your first payment. So you can use this to work out when your next payment is due - depending on how often you're paid.

Another way to find out is to look at your bank statement to check the date when your last payment went into your account.

Bank holiday payment dates up to 2011

From time to time, your normal payment day may fall on the same day as a bank holiday. This means you'll get your payment a few days earlier.

It doesn't matter whether you live in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. If there's a bank holiday anywhere in the United Kingdom, you'll still get your payment paid a few days earlier.

You can check the table below to see if your payments will be affected by bank holidays. If they will be, you can see the date when you should get paid.

The 27th and 28th of December are bank holidays those due for payment on these days will get payment on 24th.

Others that fall on public holiday are paid 3 or 4 days before.

So its likely that other benefit payments will be pretty much the same.
