Hi there

Hopefully someone will be able to help me, I have managed to get myself into a very sticky situation with payday loans and credit cards etc etc but luckily I am now in a position where I can pay off my WONGA account, and would like to also close my account at the same time how do I go about this? I have tried calling them, emailing them but no response they do not seem to understand.. I would like to close my account!

Also I am really worried that they will keep my bank details on file? I have heard bad stories about Wonga raiding people's bank account's but if I have a £00.00 outstanding balance surely they have no reason to take money from my account?

Please help

Many Thanks

Hi Victoria and welcome to CAG

If you are not in arrears they will probably take your payment and that will be that. However a new debit card would be a good idea. You can just report your existing one lost or stolen. Just in case they make a mistake! Often a new account is a good idea but if none of these companies are chasing you probably not worth the hassle. If you are in arrears you will need to be careful as they will have inflated your debt and may try and help themselves. You also mention other pay day loans? Please post some more info about your situation and we will try and help.
