    Question Starting claiming - questions

    I've read through the FAQ but couldn't see the answers but I'm wanting to claim my charges. I got statements ages ago but they don't detail the nature of the charges, so I want to send of the Data Protection Act request.

    What I was wondering is - is it just £10 for both the accounts with BOSicon or £10 each, £20 in total?

    Also - do I need to specify the period over which I'll be claiming, as the pro forma DPA request letter in the templates just says I'm 'requesting transactions etc. relating to my history with the bank'. I've been with them about 8/9 years, so I know I can't go back this far when it goes to the next step.

    Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I couldn't find it.

    It's just £10 for both accounts, but make sure that you clearly quote both account numbers at the top of your DPA letter.

    I would leave the wording of the letter as it is. If you receive info covering the entire history of your account, it might come in handy at a later date. It has been suggested that claiming for charges older than six years might be valid. If somebody puts it to the test and wins, we'll all be climbing on the bandwagon!

    Any more specific advice re BOSicon will no doubt be forthcoming when you start your thread there.
