    Default MBNA Question

Hi folks, total newbie here and pretty astonished by what I have been reading.

My question is this - My wife had a credit card with MBNAicon. Five years ago we hit hard times and ended up not being able to pay the minimum payments on loans and cards etc. Went with the CCCS , at which point all creditors except MBNA froze charges and interesticon. My wife originally owed about £500 to MBNA, but this is now nearer £1500 thanks to all the charges etc. The debt has been passed to 1st crediticon, who we are paying £1 per month.
From what I have read here am I right in thinking that we apply to MBNA for the money they charged and they will then get 1st Credit to adjust the ballance on what we owe, less the payments we have already made as well?
    (hope that all made sense)

Your help would be much appreciated.

    Andy.

    Probably.

I also think the amount of interesticon they charged you will be of INTEREST!!!!

    Yes you are correct.
Also ensure you charge them contractual interesticon, they will end up owing you much money. You have a good case if it gets to court as your other creditors froze interest and charges when they didn't.
MBNAicon are crooks, we know, they know it, which is why they are paying out so quickly.

    Hi,
you are right, I had a co-operative bank credit card which is now in the hands of equidebt. Co-op have finally agreed to refund £240 in charges, which they made in the form credit to the balance owed to equidebt, so i gues this will be the same for MBNAicon.
As for MBNA they will pay. They paid me out at the lbaicon stage on 2 accounts (refund to balanace owed to them) I had credited to my account balance £853 + £400 in interesticon, and £350 plus £200 interest on another.
I am on a repayment planicon, interest frozen , with MBNA, so this refund will allow me to pay it off about 3 years earlier!!!

keep at it, you will win!!!
