    Default lostinparadise wants £34 back.....grrrrr

    Hi all,

    OK ive decided the best place to keep my money is under my mattress or down my bra...lol lol.

    I opened a parchute account with A&L and unfortunately a cheque (which someone took 2 weeks to cash) bounced due to insufficient funds.

    I was charged £68 (2 x £34) for the privelage. This is only one bounced cheque!!!

    I rang up and they refunded one of the charges but not the other and told me to write in if i am not happy.

    Im really not in the mood for a big fight with them over £34 and am losing the will to live with my current claim against shABBEY.

    Anyway, they gave me an address to write to in order to request refund of the £34.

    Anyone have any suggestions of a strong worded letter to write? A little bit worried as this is now my main banking account...gave the women on the phone an earful about unlawful charges, and said if yo can refund one charge why not the other.

    They are all truely as bad as one another!!
    Thanx

      Hello L.I.P.
      I would go down the route of Bank templates libraryicon.Preliminary request for repayment.(definitly the one with PRELIMINARY written on it}
      Not funnily enough?i,m in the same boat. They paid a d.d. which went out a day before i was paid.Paid it but charged me £25.00 for it
      I e-mailed my displeasure asking for it back.Got no were(standard letter "our charges are fair")
      So my next job is to send prelim letter.like you not too happy as its my parachute accounticon which has turned into my actual account!
      My opinion as its a slip up they ought to refund my charge!
      Same goes for you.try looking up that letter and adapting it.
      best of luck

      When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
