well what a confusing deal i have had with A & L or is it MBNA ?
i sent Data Protection Act off to Alliance and leicester for my credit cards. also off to MBNA for the same.
had all the MBNA ones back, but a letter saying that one of the accounts was a A & L account of which these details will be with me within ten days.
yeah i got the details, what a load of old tosh it was !!!!
the copy statements are what look like to be just prints off a PC screen, no name of account, different account number to the one i should of had and only approx 3 years worth !!
to be honest, the actual copy statments make no sense to me at all?
so i have waited until the 40 day dead line was up, i now as of today 2/9/06 dead line was 20 thaug 2006, i have not recieved any other info.
the poor amount i did have had no explaination as to were these mine, or cross ref of accounts numbers when migrated across to MBNA.
i have reply to a mr steve baily couple of weeks ago, asking on this matter as well as others issues over MBNA.
and i still have not recieved anything from them.
so i have lodged complaint ,now, with the data commissionaire, explaing all the details. have not had a reply from them yet as it only went off just over a week ago.
to summerise, i had notice from MBNA that it would be sending the final account statments, what i had was crap, did not cross ref to any of my accounts, sent letter to data commissionaire, awaiting on reply
anybody got any ideas to get them to send me my data ????

A & L do not tend to send statements, just details of transactions and who dealt with them which is quite acceptable. Could your card number have changed when MBNA took over the credit card? Have you got the full amount of time between the 2 companies, A&L and MBNA?
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
Should you be offered help that requires payment please report it to site team.

yes i do believe that the accounts were migrated across to MBNA but what they have sent is a load of rubbish!
it is impossible to check what charges have been made on the outstanding accounts as there are no charges listed. what worries me as, do they hold correct info on me, going by what they have sent it could be anyones info, as i said before account numbers do not tie up, and for half the statments my name does not appear on them.
i have looked at the ones sent from MBNA and one account does start on or around the last one sent from A & l, but it seems so strange that only from when MBNA took over is there any charges on the account, as i know i was charged when it was a A & L credit card.
and to top it all, looked online last nite, found they have suspened all MBNA and A & L cards, even though the accounts are almost clear, in fact some are in credit, so how do i get my credit amounts out?
are they allowed to do this, as all i have asked for was my data???? whos to say i was not going to continue to use the accounts ?
spoke with the data commisionaires office a while ago, lodge a complaint over the lack and unreadable quality of the statements, they said i ahve a case, had letter yesterday to confirm that a case manager will be incontact shortly.
A&L dont seem to care what they send, i must admit all the others even MBNA had decent enough statements which i received. so will wait on the outcome if any at all
