Drakes bailiffshave been chasing my husband for an unpaid pcn
. On 18 July the reminder letter set out their costs as:
£10 letter
£39.34 levycharge plus VAT.
As usual hubby disregarded the letter and it disappeared under the next pile of desregarded mail.
A further letter from Drakes gave costs as:
£11.20 letter
£86.96 levycharge plus VAT.
As I had found the first letter I contacted Drakes and was told that they had no record of a letter charge of £10 and the correct charge is £11.20. I shall copy their letter to them.
In respect of the levy charge increasing from £39.34 to £86.96 Drakes state that because they received no response to their letter further enforcement action was required which resulted in further costs being incurred. The person on the phone was unable or unwilling to give me exact details of the further enforcement action and why it should cost £47.62.
I intend to write to Drakes requesting this info but does anyone know what this means and what they can charge for it?
